Celebrate the 19th Library of Congress National Book Festival at the Parade of the States Reception on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Montpelier Room, Sixth Floor, James Madison Memorial Building.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
The best way to arrive is by public transportation. The closest Metro stations are Capitol South (Blue/Orange/Silver Line—a two block walk) or Union Station (Red Line—a half-mile walk). Limited metered and two-hour zoned parking is available in the surrounding neighborhoods. Public parking garages are also available, with the largest being at Union Station. What can/can't I bring to the event?
All visitors must pass through airport-like security to enter the Library. Please allow for additional time and double-check to make sure you've removed ALL metallic and electronic items from your person. These items include some articles that may surprise you, like belt buckles and bracelets; and items that are easily forgotten like keys and cell phones.
